And believe me: you may “think” you know a lot about it... Well, after reading, review your concepts...

OSTEOPOROSIS - Do you know enough about it?

1 - Most osteoporosis is of the trabecular type;

2 - Trabecular osteoporosis is much more the result of hormonal imbalances than mere calcium deficiency;

3 - Calcium, without magnesium, vitamin D3, phosphorus, vitamin K, strontium (among others) and regular exercise, ends up being deposited in the wrong places, calcifying (and hardening) what it shouldn't, such as cartilage and artery walls...

4 - Without an adequate amount of protein in your diet (and good digestion/absorption of it), you will never produce enough healthy bone matrix to be calcified and function properly.

Read more at the link below:

http://www.saudeemmovimento.com.br/conteudos/conteudo_exibe1.asp?cod_noticia=69

I just think you missed mentioning that three other mega-important factors have to be associated with the ideal treatment for osteoporosis:

1 - Water and healthy lifestyle habits (https://icaro.med.br/15habitos/)

People who drink too little water a day induce their brains to run a metabolism that is more catabolic than anabolic in order to survive, and this leads to “breakdowns” in general, including, importantly, of the bones. Incidentally, bad lifestyle habits lead the body to destroy itself, for the reason explained above for water, which is the main healthy lifestyle habit.

2 - Proteins

First of all, it is crucial to understand that the bone matrix is made up of a protein skeleton that is mineralized, basically collagen that is gradually incorporated with minerals, mainly calcium (https://www.lifeextension.com/protocols/metabolic-health/osteoporosis). So if your diet doesn't provide the proteins/amino acids your body needs, you'll never have truly healthy bones.

3 - Hormones

Hormonal imbalances, in general, prevent the body from receiving the necessary commands for the proper production of healthy bone, through the balance between the actions of building and degrading bones (remodeling) and the incorporation of nutrients in the right quantity, quality and places. In other words, you can consume supplements and various medications to your heart's content, but if you have significant untreated hormonal disorders, your treatments tend to achieve unsatisfactory results and/or at the expense of unpleasant side effects.

Got it? So now, stop and think: do you still believe that treating osteoporosis comes down to taking calcium combined with insufficient amounts of vitamin D?

Este é um “texto 2 em 1”, já que é a junção de dois posts bem atuais meus, citando entre as referências um excelente artigo do Dr. Paulo Farber, acerca de um tema em que há muitos mitos e desinformação: osteoporose.
