Understand the obvious:

✅ Our science doesn't explain everything, either because of a lack of interest or because it hasn't evolved enough on many subjects. I explain this clearly here: https://icaro.med.br/reflexoes-baseadas-evidencias-senso/

Useful and well-supported knowledge comes from many sources besides articles: classes with good teachers (from university to postgraduate courses), exchanges of information between professionals, magazines, texts on the internet... Who keeps track of the sources, the “scientific evidence” of everything they hear, read or come into contact with? All the knowledge acquired becomes an asset and becomes part of a body of knowledge that only grows and improves throughout life. Or does every nutritionist walk around with charts, diets and foods under their arm? The same goes for physical education professionals and their equipment, psychologists and their divans, doctors and their medicines.

✅ Most professionals who post on the internet regularly (like me) aim, above all, to inform the lay public about health or to promote exchanges of knowledge with lay people and other professionals. So what's the point of clogging up each post with references to articles and books?

A lot of patience!

Some “qualified cyberchats” are even good in their areas, but have “decided” that they are good in all areas. They've been invading posts to have their say (which isn't a problem when the intervention is constructive), but sometimes they just come in to stir things up or talk garbage. In other words, don't be a proven evidence-based bore: go and find good things to do in life, like, legitimately, helping others!

Hugs to everyone,
Dr. Ícaro Alves Alcântara

De vez em quando, aparecem alguns nas redes sociais questionando coisas como: “Cadê os estudos científicos, as evidências para respaldar isso que você postou?” Que tal bom senso, gente?
