Panic Disorder

People with “panic syndrome” or many repeated attacks of high anxiety can have this caused or aggravated by simple hypoglycemia, related to not eating properly.

1 - Of course, the vast majority of the time there is an emotional trigger. But susceptibility to triggers can be increased by various disorders, including hormonal, nutrient and blood glucose disorders.

2 - Hypoglycemia increases the amount of glutamate (excitatory neurotransmitter) in relation to GABA (calming).

3 - People who don't eat for a long time are more likely to develop hypoglycemia (a drop in blood glucose levels), unless they are on very special diets.

4 - Eating large quantities of simple carbohydrates in one go induces excessive insulin release which, after a short time, tends to cause hypoglycemia (insulin takes glucose out of the blood and into the cell).

5 - Those who base their diet on carbohydrates tend to have more episodes of hypoglycemia and, consequently, more panic disorders.

6 - Psychological support is always good when the patient doesn't improve with the above tips alone!
