Christians also have an obligation to take care of their BODY

Read on,

Someone was watching a pastor preach on YouTube right next to me and I heard something like “Brother, if you're a true believer, you'll live more than 90, 100 years and even beyond”... I believe it! But let's get to the details of this “prophecy”:

1 - I assume that the “true believer” is the one who follows the precepts of the Bible, i.e. in this context true believer = Christian (believes in Jesus and his words); according to the pastor, therefore, the Christian who effectively observes and puts into practice the teachings of the Bible will have longevity.

2 - Among the many lessons in the Bible, it is written in various parts, in the most diverse ways, that we must take care of our body, our physical health, since the body is the “temple of the Spirit”, that is, the means by which his spirit accomplishes everything in life. In other words, the Holy Scriptures point out and prioritize the values of the spirit but make it clear that, in order for us to manifest them in our lives, we have to take good care of ourselves, which importantly includes the health of our bodies.

3 - The good Christian, therefore (including the good “believer”), has to take as good care of his body as he does of his spirit! Otherwise, he is going against the teachings of the Bible and therefore ceasing to be a “good Christian” and jeopardizing the fulfillment of the prophecy of great longevity in his existence... In fact, it's no use just praying a lot and professing to have a lot of faith without this being associated with action, attitudes towards the good, including aiming at his own good, not only of spirit, but also of mind and body, thus obeying the guidelines of the Bible itself!

4 - However, despite all this being obvious, what I often see are many people, from the most diverse religions and beliefs, who even seem well-meaning, “do good”, want to help others, get involved in charitable activities and support others, but don't take proper care of their own bodies, their health - many people who are overweight, have bad lifestyle habits (for example, poor diet, a sedentary lifestyle, ...) and even abuse medication; and so they end up getting sick early or never manage to use their full potential for anything.) and even abusing medication; and so they end up falling ill prematurely or never really being able to use their full potential for anything, since willingness, energy and the potential to work for good require much more than just good will. God has written that he wants you to take care of your body too: have you understood the message or how many signs do you need for this?

In short, the pastor is right: real Christians do tend to live long, quality lives, but because they take as good care of their bodies as they do their spirits!

So, after reading this, do you really think you're a true Christian? I hope so!
