I asked people who really want to be healthy what the main obstacles are to recovering, maintaining and optimizing their health. Some mentioned money, others access to services, professionals, treatments and medicines, and also the lack or poor quality of knowledge. Conflicting information, difficulties in discerning what is right, a toxic environment, lack of willpower, low initiative and indiscipline were also mentioned.
For many, the challenge is to know exactly what to do; for others, unfortunately, what remains are excuses. I have to say that although all these issues may have simple solutions or viable alternatives, as they require a certain effort to learn, adopt and maintain, many prefer not to try and even criticize.
Shall we change that? It's not a “favor” for me, but a question of self-care. After all, what lies have you been telling yourself or what truths have you been avoiding facing?
