You may have been lied to about fat: In the 1980s and 1990s, there was a strong movement to get us to reduce our consumption of fats, supposedly based on bad studies, poor technical quality, and a lot of media work, skillfully directed or hired to do so - so we were wrongly led to believe that consuming saturated fats would increase our risk of heart attacks, strokes and other cardiovascular diseases; coincidentally, they barely mentioned the evils of sugars, especially simple carbohydrates, and the result was that most of us reduced our consumption of fats and increased our consumption of carbohydrates, even in a well-intentioned way, in search of greater health... The consequences have been catastrophic, above all: an increase in blood glucose, insulin levels and, as a result, triglycerides, LDL cholesterol, leptin and diabetes, obesity, overweight and chronic diseases in general.
@doutorrondo has released a text that complements the explanations in the link above very well and presents even more good scientific evidence for you - Check it out: “Understand Once and For All: Saturated Fat is GOOD for you”! http://www.drrondo.com/entenda-de-uma-vez-por-todas-gordura-saturada-e-boa-para-voce
Understand: ideally, a good nutritionist should evaluate your case to indicate (and monitor) the most appropriate dietary pattern for your profile or case, but in general most of us should eat more fats, proteins, fiber and water and less simple carbohydrates!
Why are so many good doctors interested in how you eat? Simple: good nutrition is fundamental to preventing symptoms and diseases or achieving better results in your treatment; many medicines fail or bring insufficient results when the patient eats badly! Adjust this for your own good: icaro.med.br/ALIMENTACAO
In my opinion, a health professional who doesn't value your dietary pattern isn't addressing your case properly, completely. Better to get a second opinion!
You know when I said “Coincidence” above? I doubt it... Go here and form your own opinion - a lot of people have profited from the majority's sickening preference for carbohydrates: icaro.med.br/industridoacucarmanipulainformacoes/
One of the most unfairly criticized saturated fats is coconut oil... Here's why it's probably good for you: icaro.med.br/?s=oleo+de+coco
Think about it.
