I recently received a male patient who came from another professional (a colleague) with the following prescription - among several other products: progesterone 20 mg + gestrinone 5 mg + oxandrolone 15 mg.
My comments, my opinion:
✅ 20 milligrams of progesterone a day for a man?
Too high a dose, in my opinion - based on many courses and studies.
✅ Oxandrolone?
I've never prescribed. For anyone. It's not a bioidentical, isomolecular hormone.
Gestrinone?
I've never prescribed it either, for the same reason as oxandrolone. What's more, I notice that most patients who use gestrinone suffer from low progesterone levels after a few months of use - and the negative effects of this are numerous.
Regardless of this prescription and this patient, I receive many patients (women) in my office using high doses of oxandrolone and/or gestrinone on a chip.
In both cases, within a matter of months, problems start to appear - and they tend to get worse with continued use.
