Think:
1️⃣ If something can't be patented or doesn't look like it will “make a profit”, it simply isn't of interest to the main funders of drug research, which are the pharmaceutical industries.
2️⃣ Research that leads to products that cure diseases mysteriously “doesn't go any further”; those that lead to products that control and alleviate symptoms and diseases, treat without curing, exist in abundance, even if many are of dubious quality. 3️⃣ Especially in Brazil, what is natural and works usually leaves the country to be studied and put to good use abroad.
4️⃣ A more traditional medical colleague told me that when laboratory representatives are asked about what I've said in the points above, many simply reply (they've been trained to do so) that it's an “absurd conspiracy theory”, that “medicines save lives” (in many cases, when used well, they do) and that none of it has any basis in fact...
